David B. Koch, D.C. invested as second president of Sherman College

David B. Koch, D.C., was invested as the second president of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic on Friday, May 23, 1997, during a 9 p.m. installation ceremony.

Dr. Koch was appointed president of the College, on January 1, 1997, after the retirement of the College's founding president, Dr. Thomas A. Gelardi.

On Friday, May 23, the installation ceremony was held on the Sherman College campus, during the College's annual Lyceum event. Delegates from across the nation participated in the ceremony which included representatives from 13 of the 16 North American chiropractic colleges, one international chiropractic college, several local South Carolina colleges, and local legislative officials. Dr. Joseph Donofrio, chairman of the Sherman College Board of Trustees, performed the installation, which was followed by remarkes from the new president.

Dr. Koch received several greetings from chiropractic institutions, including the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, The Chiropractic Unit Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards, the Foundation for the Advancement of Chiropractic Education, the Institut Français De Chiropractie and the New York Chiropractic College. Other distinguished greetings included Senator Strom Thurmond, who wished Dr. Koch the best of luck in his future responsibilities at Sherman College.
